VAI Workshop | How to Apply for Funding with Maeve Mulrennan (Dublin)
Thursday 25 April, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
This workshop will concentrate on presenting art practice and communicating ideas through text, creating a budget and compiling supporting documentation. There will be a focus on available funding opportunities on a local and national level, breaking down tasks needed to complete an application / proposal, and what happens once funding is awarded. This workshop will also be an opportunity to exchange information and ideas with peers. The day will begin with a focus on the artistβs statement as a foundational tool, and participants are asked to bring a hard copy of their current artist statement.

Maeve Mulrennan is a curator, writer and facilitator. She has been the Head of Visual Arts in Galway Arts Centre since 2006. She is currently working with Dublin City Council Culture Company and EVA International. She has previously sat on adjudication panels for numerous local authorities, CREATE, Arts and Disability Ireland and the OPW.
Maeve holds an MA in Visual Arts Practices from IADT DΓΊn Laoghaire, BA Fine Art from LSAD, BA in Arts and a h.Dip in Arts Administration from NUI Galway. She previously lectured in Visual Art policy and Education and Engagement policy in Huston School of Film & Digital Media, NUI Galway, NODE Center for Curatorial Studies.
