‘Experience’ and ‘Encounter’ in Practice and Theory in the Arts and Clinical Practice is session 3 of an international, multidisciplinary seminar on psychoanalysis and sexuality which will take place in the Freud Museum, London. The session will feature a conversation between Turner Prize-nominated artist Karla Black, psychoanalytic psychotherapist and visual artist Ann Murphy, and psychotherapist and theorist Dr Lisa Baraitser about the discourses of ‘experience’ and ‘encounter’ in artistic practice, psychoanalytic clinical practice and theoretical practice. The event is organised by Dr Noreen Giffney (psychoanalytic psychotherapist and cultural theorist) and Dr Eve Watson (psychoanalytic practitioner).
