Printmaking at the Sea with David Begley and Hanneke van Ryswyk at Artform, Dunmore East
On this two day printmaking course, we will begin the day on the beach collecting source material for your prints. This will be followed by a demonstration of materials and techniques in the studio. We will explore the spontaneity of creating monochrome monotype prints with David, and on day two, using the methods learned through this process, combined with drypoint, we will make monochrome and colour prints with Hanneke. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with wipe out, tonking, and direct painting methods and using found materials to create textures in their prints. Suitable for all abilities.

David Begley is an Irish artist, writer, and arts educator, currently working in the medium of printmaking. He has presented his animations, drawings, paintings and prints at galleries and festivals in Australia, China, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, USA and The UK. Hanneke van Ryswyk is a Welsh-Dutch artist. She has held six solo exhibitions since moving to Ireland in 2011 and has been selected for exhibitions at the RHA, VISUAL Carlow, The Model Sligo, The Lavit Gallery Cork, Bridget McDonnell Gallery Melbourne, Somerset House London,Terra Nostra, Wexford County Council and PeripheriesOPEN 2018 at GSA Wexford.
