Pre-texts ‘training for trainers’ course takes place in DIT Grangegorman 29th- 31st May 2018 as part of ‘…the lives we live’ Grangegorman’s public art programme. This creative skills workshop forms part of the programme’s Pathway 4: Creative Agents Initiative. It will be led by author and educator Doris Sommer, Director of the Cultural Agents, NGO, which developed at Harvard University. This is a creative technique, useful for all ages, levels and disciplines,that encourages people to re-enter teaching and learning environments.
This ‘Training for Trainers’ experiential programme is aimed at teachers, trainers, youth workers, artists, child care leaders and people working with children, young people or adults in Dublin’s Inner City.
The ‘train the trainer’ programme is aimed at both paid and volunteer teachers, trainers, youth workers, artists, educators and others working in learning environments with children, young people or adults in Dublin’s inner city.
Programme stages. There are two stages to the Pre-Texts Training programme. The first stage comprises a 2.5 day intensive training session held in the DIT Campus in Grangegorman at the end of May (just before the June Bank holiday weekend). The second stage comprises 15 hours of implementation with your own group at a time that suits you, ideally before the end of 2018. During this stage you will be supported by a lead facilitator (‘weaver’).
