Per Cent for Art Commission | Scoil Bheinín Naofa Buachaillí, Duleek, Co. Meath

Under the Per Cent for Art Scheme Scoil Bheinín Naofa Buachaillí wishes to commission new visual artwork to celebrate their school community.
The aim of the commission is to provide an opportunity for artists, at any stage of their career or experience level, to develop a new work influenced by the history, context and aspirations of the students, teachers, parents and community of Duleek and the surrounding region. The commissioned piece should be timeless, energetic, vibrant and something that the children can engage with.
Projects financed under this scheme should maintain the highest level of artistic excellence, be innovative in nature and display a high level of understanding of the context of the commission.
The commission is for a collaborative art programme to be explored, developed and completed in conjunction with the Per Cent for Art Committee.

Artists Brief: Duleek BNS Per Cent for Art 2019
Artists must register interest in the project by email duleekpercentforart@gmail.com or write to Emma Keane , Art Commission Co-ordinator, Scoil Bheinín Naofa Buachaillí, Duleek, Co. Meath expressing your interest in the project before 4 p.m. on Wednesday 20th February 2019 and providing your name, address, telephone number and email address. When registering, please indicate if you require to attend a project site visit.
Proposals for the commissions at both stages will be selected by a committee consisting of representatives of the teaching staff, Board of Management, independent professional artist and Meath County Council Arts Officer.
A maximum of 5 artists will be invited to submit a Stage 2 proposal. Each shortlisted artist will receive a fee of €500 to develop their proposal further.
Shortlisted artists will be asked to present to the committee and be requested to elaborate on their proposals.
