Open Call | TACTIC Art Gallery Exhibition, Cork

Application deadline: 22 December, 6pm

TACTIC Art Gallery will be assuming a gallery takeover of Cork Photo Gallery at the Lord Mayor’s Pavilion in Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork city for January 2018. This takeover wishes to pay a playful and exploratory homage to the three International Exhibitions of 1852, 1902 and 1903. All took place within the grounds of Fitzgerald’s Park and the purpose built pavilion. The show will be curated by the TACTIC curatorial resident, Alison Fogarty.

Works for TACTIC’s takeover will be selected through open submission. Work is welcome across ALL media. Work and proposals should take as its foundation the principles of such great exhibitions from the unveiling and presentation of new industrial and technological advancements, public enjoyment through massive cultural exposés, exchanges of knowledge, moments and events of political satire, to commenting on national and international socio-economical events.

– short artist bio or cv and a recent artist statement
-images (max 6) in jpeg format

There is an artist fee of €150. Installation costs are covered. Insurance is covered by Sample-Studios/TACTIC. There is no commission charged on the sale of works.

Artists will be notified by the 28th of December. It is the artist’s responsibility to arrange delivery and collection of the works. Install begins from January 2nd. Exhibition will open Saturday 13th January 2pm and end on the 28th January.
