Open Call | Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2019

Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year is now open for entries. Portrait Artist of the Year is a television competition shown on the Sky Arts channel which aims to find the best portrait painter every year. It is open to all artists – amateur, professional or hobbyists. Artists must be a resident in the UK, Gibraltar, Falkland Islands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands or Republic of Ireland for at least a year on 18th October 2017.
Portrait Artist of the Year offers artists the chance to win a £10,000 commission for a major British institution and £500 of art materials from Cass Art.
To enter the competition, you must complete and submit an online application form and upload the following photographs:
a. A photograph of a Self Portrait. This image should not include the frame.
b. A second photograph of an additional painting. This should also be a Portrait. This image should not include the frame or surroundings.
c. An optional third photograph of your work.
c. One passport style photograph of yourself.
PLEASE NOTE: Each photograph must be a JPEG file (no less than 800KB and no more than 1.5MB), and please ensure that it is well-lit, composed, and shows any detail such as brushstrokes and mark-making.
Only one entry can be submitted per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
If You are chosen as a Shortlisted Artist or a Reserve Shortlisted Artist, You must be available for filming between 23rd April – 4th May 2018.
