Open Call | Shorelines Arts Festival, Portumna, Co. Galway (Submission Fee)

Submission deadline 28 August

Shorelines Arts Festival in Portumna, Co Galway, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, 14th – 17th September.

A major strand of the festival is the art exhibition, held in the wonderful space of The Gallery at the Workhouse and this runs daily from 4th September during workhouse hours until midday on Sunday 24th September, when the show comes down.

It is a selling exhibition, with the committee taking 15% commission. Artists with framed work ready to be hung are invited to bring a single piece to the Workhouse, where they will be asked to give contact details, details of the work submitted and agree that the work will be left at their own risk.

Please note, there is a submission fee of €5.

The workhouse is staffed during opening hours and all care is taken of work submitted. Artists with three-dimensional work should contact one of the curators – Margaret on 086 3195603 or Jackie on 087 6319890 to discuss it.

Those wishing to show are invited to bring their work to the Portumna Workhouse (very easy to find, with endless parking) between 6 and 7.30pm on Sunday 27th August or Monday 28th August.

Unsold work can be collected from 1pm until 4pm on Sunday 24th September or from 6 to 7.30pm on Monday 25th September.
