Open Call | Creative Residency and Presentation of New Work at the Honorable Society of King’s Inns

The Honorable Society of King’s Inns and Dublin City Council Culture Company invite applications from Ireland based artists to spend six months, commencing on 1st September 2019, living and working in the unique environment of King’s Inns, Dublin 1.

The Creative Residency will, in essence, provide time and space for the selected artist to develop and explore, through their practice, the theme of art and law with reference to King’s Inns and the Honorable Society of King’s Inns. Through the residency,The Honorable Society of King’s Inns and Dublin City Council Culture Company seek to support an artist in the creation and presentation of a new work. All formats and all art forms are eligible.

Applications are invited for creative proposals which explore the theme of art and law with reference to King’s Inns and the Honorable Society of King’s Inns.

A stipend will be offered to the recipient of the Creative Residency award. This will range from €4,500 to €7,000 depending on the nature, particulars and requirements of the successful application. Additional funds will be made available for the creation of the new artwork, including an agreed artists fee, materials and production costs, within reason.

Who is eligible?

  • Artists based in Ireland, with a proven track record of working creatively are eligible.
  • The residency is open to any medium (architecture, circus, crafts, dance, digital media, film, movement, music, spectacle, theatre, writing, visual art, as well as multi-disciplinary practice and design of all kinds).
  • The artist must be available to commence and undertake the Creative Residency from 1st September 2019 to end February 2020.
