Open Call | Cabinet of Wonders at Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar

Submissions are sought from artists and guest curators for the next outing of ‘The Cabinet of Wonders’, to be installed in April 2018 in the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

The ongoing project is presented in glass display cabinets located in the Foyer of the Linenhall Arts Centre, a public concourse in a busy arts centre.

Each vertical cabinet (dimensions 160x40x30cm hxwxd) is divided into 4 sections (each 37x37x28cm hxwxd) separated by glass shelving. Artists are invited to send proposals (images with details and text as appropriate) for inclusion either in an individual cabinet section/s, or for full cabinet installations. Proposals should reflect the ‘Cabinet of Wonders’ theme, and also bear in mind the public nature of the location in terms of suitability for all ages. All media will be considered, and artists are encouraged to bear in mind the 3-dimensional nature of the display setting.
