Introduction to Botantical Art with Artist Ida Mitrani, Beara Peninsula, Cork

This course is designed as an introduction to botanical illustration. Using graphite pencils and watercolour paint, you will learn how to measure and portray plants. The sessions will cover drawing, shading and some watercolour techniques. There will also be an emphasize on colour theory and preparing colour charts.

Along with her artistic practice, Ida Mitrani has been intensively teaching Art and Botanical Illustration over the past 12 years and in various colleges and art centres. She has set up the first intensive Botanical course in Ireland in the Institute of Art and Design and Technology in DunLaoghaire, Dublin. Being a full member of the Irish Society of Botanical Artists, Mitrani is currently part of a worldwide Botanical Art project. The exhibition will be taking place in May 2018.
