9 and 10 March, 9:30am to 5pm
Beyond Participation is an international conference by the Irish Architecture Foundation, curated by Tara Kennedy and funded by The Arts Council of Ireland through the Engaging with Architecture scheme. It takes place in partnership with Project Arts Centre, Dublin. Building on the success of the first conference in 2016, Beyond Participation #2 is a vital discussion about architecture and community. Bringing together innovators, provocateurs and activists it challenges us to think about democracy, consequence, responsibility and the meaning of the things we design.
The conference speakers include Killian Doherty of Architectural (Field) Office, Ana Jara and Lucinda Correia of Artéria, Stefan Laxness of Forensic Architecture, Hana Loftus of Hat Projects, Alex de Rijke of dRMM and Lilet Breddels Director of Archis Foundation. The conference will be chaired by Diarmaid Lawlor, Director of Place at Architecture + Design Scotland. Tickets include lunch from Luncheonette and a beer at the end of the day.
