For a staged performance work by Amsterdam-based visual artist Nicoline van Harskamp, Project Arts Centre are looking to cast up to 10 stage performers of different ages and backgrounds. The piece has the working title ‘Who is Your Name‘ and consists of several shorter monologues on the topic of names: how they can be given as well as withdrawn, inflicted, collected, hidden, or adapted.
Proper names cross boundaries of languages, cultures, religions and nationalities in ways that most other words cannot. The piece will be staged in several languages, including Irish and English. We are looking for a multi-multilingual cast, as different proficiency levels, dialects, and varieties of language are at the very core of the performance. The play will first be staged in Dublin in October 2018.
Nicoline van Harskamp will be in Dublin in February to open a solo exhibition of earlier works on video that will be on view between 15 Febuary and 31 March in the gallery of Project Arts Centre.
She will also conduct research for a new performance work and would like to meet potential performers. If you are interested to set a meeting between 13 – 25 February, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your availablity between those dates, as well as relevant information about yourself.
Fees: basic fee (+ expenses)
