Working with Photographs with Robert Ellis at Burren College of Art

The aim of this workshop is to improve all aspects of your digital photography image making. It is ideal for anyone who has a digital SLR but feel that they are not getting the most out of it. The five day workshop will guide photographers towards making beautiful photographic prints. Over the course of the 5 days participants will learn about optimising their camera for producing the best quality image and get a chance to make new work on field trips around the Burren. Participants will then get the opportunity to enhance their image with post-production using Adobe Bridge , Lightroom and Photoshop and finally you will get to produce beautiful photographic prints.

Use of the College’s large format Epson 7900 printing technology will be available to participants for printing their images with a wide range of photographic paper choices to work with, from Glossy Photo Paper to Enhanced Matt or Premium Lustre paper. However, this workshop will have less of an emphasis on printing, but more on the basic skills required to start working in Photoshop.

Robert Ellis graduated from the University of Ulster in 2011 with a Masters in Fine Art Photography. Since then his work has been exhibited extensively both at home and abroad. Most recently Robert was featured as one of the 25 photographer exhibited and published as part of the main show during PhotoIreland 2013. He has also been selected for juried shows such as the RHA Annual 2013 in Dublin, Blow your mind at the Irish Embassy in Berlin as part of the European Month of Photography and Something Recalled curated by Helen Carey in Glor Arts Centre.
