Wonderful Weeds: Botanical Drawing Workshop with Yanny Petters at Butler Gallery, Kilkenny

This workshop explores inspiration through drawing and painting and will make you look at the plant world in a new light. It’s a meeting of science and art. It’s fun and fascinating.

Participants will draw a plant or part there-of while learning about how to identify plants, know how they work and examin their value to society.

As an introduction to how Botanical artists work Yanny will give a brief history of Botanical art and how artists have depicted plants through the ages.

The aim is to start an irresistable curiosity about the plants that surround us, while honing our observational skills through drawing.

You don’t need to have drawing skills. Just a sense of wonder.
