Week Long Pottery Workshop at Arran Street East

On this 5-morning course, Arran Street East potters will take a small group through the fundamental skills of throwing (working on a potter’s wheel to shape the clay), and handbuilding (shaping the clay using simple tools and your hands).

Over the 5 sessions you’ll learn about materials and processes, and work with your hands putting knowledge into practice, culminating in the production of your own two mugs.

You’ll look at preparing the clay, making the mug shape, designing the surface, and making handles, and you will have some time for experimentation in the studio too.

The course takes place from 9:30am to 1pm, in the Arran Street East studio opposite the Dublin Fruit and Vegetable Market.

Your handiwork will be fired and ready for collection or shipping to you 6 to 8 weeks after the course ends.
