We are all Engagers | IMA Annual Conference 2019 at Crawford Art Gallery, Cork
1 and 2 March 2019. Early Bird registration is available until 4 February 2019.
The Irish Museums Association (IMA) have announced the programme for the Annual Conference 2019, to be held at Crawford Art Gallery โ and additionally supported Cork Public Museum, The Glucksman, and Cork CoCo Heritage Office.
Under the title โWe are all engagersโ, the conference will consider how museums can imbue audience-centred thinking within their organisational culture, in particular how we can develop and reimagine collections in ways which will actively engage the public and unlock our full potential as a sector by becoming more dynamic, agile, and responsive to issues of contemporary relevance.
Thirty speakers will take part in panel sessions, project slams, and discussions at this themed two-day conference, bringing together a diverse range of voices that will discuss the shift towards a user-led philosophy in our museums, collecting current major political and societal changes, how displays of queer identity have offered new perspectives on the museum, and how museums can give voice and empower our migrant communities.
IMA members can avail of further discounted registration fees so make sure your membership is up to date โ or take this opportunity to join the association.
