IMMA is delighted to invite Jörg Heiser, renowned writer, art critic, curator, and co-editor of Frieze magazine to present a talk in the context of our current exhibition Nowhere without No(w) by Irish artists Walker and Walker.
Heiser’s lecture draws on his acclaimed research on the convergence of Romanticism and Conceptualism, across literature, music and contemporary art practice, especially at play in the Walker and Walker exhibition.
The catalyst for discussion is the surrealist writer René Daumal, and his classic novel allegory, Mount Analogue – in which to explore the artists’ own meditations on journeying between thwarted worlds of ideal inward Romanticism and deadpan rational Conceptualism.
