The Actor and the Mask Workshop at The Lab, Dublin

Using different types of masks (full and half-masks) we will get to know the basic principals that guide an actor in her or his work such as; neutrality, mimo-dynamics, simplicity, restrictions and precision of movement for example). We will use improvisation of body and voice as a means for sculpting our scenic presence.
The course is comprised of the following elements and themes:

Neutral mask: the essentials.
Larvary mask: incorporating shape and form.
Character mask: working on precision in action.
Half mask: voice and passions.

Workshop suitable for actors, dancers, directors, theatre makers, choreographers, sculptors, puppeteers, designers, architechts, teachers, people interested in education and theatre pedagogy.

Wear dark, unified and comfortable clothing.
