Studio Visit and Workshop with Kevin Killen, Co. Down

LUX is a group exhibition at Solstice Arts Centre, Navan of sculptural and installation works that use artificial illumination as their primary medium. The participating artists are five of the finest practitioners currently working within this field of artmaking in Ireland.

Have you ever wondered how artificial light is made and how it can be physically shaped by artists in the studio? If so, this very special field trip organised by Solstice to exhibiting artist Kevin Killenโ€™s workshop in County Down will enlighten you.

Find out more about Kevinโ€™s intriguing practice and how he uses neon light to produce both site-specific and gallery-based artwork. Participants will have an opportunity to explore and create with neon tubing and glass, including techniques in bending, looping and welding. Suitable for artists and those interested in the intersection of science and art. Travel arrangements TBC to bring attendees from Dublin and Meath.
