Foundation Drawing Term 1
A 15-week course in drawing that provides a skill based approach to the development of individual drawing practice. The course provides the basic technical, material and observational skills for drawing. Course content ranges from sight size observation, spatial organisation to in-depth anatomical study. Foundation Painting Term 1
A 15-week course that provides basic technical skills to underpin a painting practice. Students will learn how to prepare and create a variety of grounds and surfaces, best practice in relation to materials, the physical and chemical rules for the application of paint, advanced colour theory, tonal value and glazing. Wednesdays 9.30 – 1.00, 12 September – 19 December 2018
Mentored Drawing
This 15-week term will be organised around three 5-week blocks in drawing led by experienced tutors. There will be a tutored session each morning. Participants will work from live observation and each afternoon there will be a life drawing session facilitated by Colin Martin School Principal working from the life model and applying learning from the morning session. Thursdays 10.00 – 5.00, 13 September – 20 December 2018
Self-Directed Life Drawing
The Friday Self-Directed Life Drawing Course offers an opportunity for professional artists and students to practice working directly from the live model in order to maintain a high skill-level and practice drawing. These are self-directed sessions and there is an opportunity to work for extended day long poses and shorter gestural poses. Fridays 10.00-5.00, 14 September – 21 December 2018
