Resist, Acid and Proof | Print Demonstration and Talk by Debora Ando, Wexford
Resist, Acid and Proof – the making of the fine art print. Debora Ando, a practising printmaker from Black Church Print Studio will introduce the fundamentals of the intaglio printing process including drypoint, various intaglio processes including hardground, softground, aquatint, sugar lift, chine colle, carborundum and surface roll-ups. The transfer of drawings to the plate and registration methods will be explained. A demonstration of inking up and printing plates using a small portable press will be carried out. You will also have a chance to pull a print.
The talk will also refer to the Black Church Print Studio exhibition, IN:PRINT which is currently on show in the Gallery. Participants will gain a more in-depth understanding of the variety of techniques and processes that make up the complexities of printing.
The talk will conclude with Q & A session.
