Project Management for the Arts β 2 Days
How to plan and deliver projects within budget and with expectations managed.
Project Management has been described as peering into the future and looking for the best possible outcome. In VAIβs daily life on the Help Desk, we hear the constant comment βIf only I hadβ¦β It is for this reason that we have worked closely with one of Irelandβs leading experts in Project Management to develop a two day workshop which is designed specifically for the arts. The workshop starts at the very early stages of verbalising an idea, preparing a proposal, or undertaking detailed planning once a funding decision has been made and brings participants right through to the wrap up after the project has been completed.
If you are involved in preparing for an exhibition, looking to the delivery of a commission, or you are involved in the day to day running of an arts organisation or artistic commissions, this workshop is for you.
Over a period of two days, you will work on your own project bringing it from a concept through the steps of managing expectations, resourcing it, looking at what if scenarios, right through to what to do on a week to week basis to ensure that your plan is delivered on time, within budget, and to an agreed level of quality.
Attendees will leave the workshop with an outline plan for their own project and a set of common-sense based skills.
Please Note: Participants are asked to bring with them a project that they are either planning or working towards.
This workshop takes place over two days β Monday, November 5th and Monday, November 12th. Price for Members of VAI is β¬80 for the two days; β¬160 for Non-Members.
