26 March, 1.30pm.

Emma Finucane will give a talk on her practice and aims as the inaugural Artist in Residence for Other People’s Practices. Other People’s Practices is an artists residency and research project that supports professional artists to produce collaborative, socially engaged projects in Usher’s Island, a post/semi-post forensic mental healthcare setting. Usher’s Island is a National Forensic Mental Health Service community centre for recovered and recovering service users of the Central Mental Hospital.

Other People’s Practices is a partnership between John Conway, The National Forensic Mental Health Service, National College of Art and Design and Waterford Healing Arts Trust. It is funded by Creative Ireland’s National Creativity Fund.

The talk takes place in the NCAD Harry Clarke Lecture Theatre and will be introduced by John. Emma will be joined in after the talk by her fellow artists in residence Glenn Loughran and Jonathan Cummins.
