Maree National School is a co-educational primary school based in Maree Oranmore, Co. Galway. They moved from their old school on the same site into their new school in 2015.
Maree National School’s Public Art Working Group has made the decision to commission an engaging Permanent Artwork (s) for the interior / exterior space or both for their new school to consider the following:
– An artwork that is relevant now and will also grow and remain relevant to their
students and staff now and into the future.
– An interactive element to the project.
– A level of engagement with students that won’t compromise the budget for their
wish to have permanent artworks.
– The school would wish for an exterior element to this artwork so that it may be
visible to parents and their local community.
Various approaches and levels of engagement are welcomed as part of this Per Cent for Art
project. Collaborative partnerships are also welcome, should artists wish to partner with
another artist for this project.
