Deadline for applications: Friday 18 May
Siamsa Tíre is seeking proposals from visual artists to undertake a residency in its theatre building in Tralee from the 25th of June to the 16th of September 2018. As part of the residency, the selected artist will be invited to respond creatively to the National Folk Theatre of Ireland, engaging with others working in the building, particularly the members of the performing company. There will be a level of public engagement as part of the residency, the details of which will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate.
The chosen artist will be invited to use one of the gallery spaces as working studios and will also have access to office space. A fee of €3,500 will be provided, along with a materials stipend of €500.
Note: This residency does not include accommodation, applicants living far from Tralee will need to organise their own accommodation if their application is successful.
Access to the space will be from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday (the artist would be asked to spend a minimum of 15 hours resident in the theatre building in any given week).
The successful applicant should be fluent in English.
