International Woodcarving Symposium in St. Blasien, Germany. St. Blasien is a small sympathic little City in the beautiful region of Black Forest. For 24 years the symposium has been a cultural highlight, which is fixed in the planning of the year.
Lots of artists from all over the world have taken part, and they are interested in inviting new ideas and more countries than theyβve had in the past.
Each artist will get a tree trunk in a length and diameter the artist prefers. They mostly have spruce, but maple is also possible. All artists are working in an outdoor studio under fixed tents. This will be open to the public. Each artist will earn an allowance of β¬1000 at the end of the week, food and lodging is free and a Travel Allowance from home to St. Blasien is guaranteed.
