Application deadline: 15 January
The Victoria and Albert Museum is seeking applications for a 3-month residency (February – April 2018) at the Museum. They are looking for artists who are keen to engage with the histories of slavery and slave-ownership that are ‘hidden in plain sight’ within the V&A, embodied in many of its objects but rarely acknowledged or discussed – and to make these visible through performance, sound, film, projection mapping or a digital intervention.
There is a residency stipend of £6,500 and a budget of £2,000 for production/research/facilitation/public engagement. Applications can be from artists and practitioners of any age and nationality, and from artists based in or outside London (in the UK), however there is no separate budget for accommodation or travel.
