Open Call | Design & Crafts Council of Ireland Education Panel

The Design & Crafts Council of Irelands’s (DCCoI) Education Panel is a key resource that assists in the successful delivery and development of education programmes. The panel is made up of professional designers, craftspeople and makers. DCCoI panel members work across a wide range of ages and abilities to bring people exciting opportunities to explore their creativity and learn new skills by working with professional makers; activities include school’s programmes, practical workshops, demonstrations and talks. DCCoI are looking to fill a number of regional and discipline based gaps in the current panel.
For makers the panel is an opportunity to be part of a network of maker/educators who are called upon throughout the year for work with DDCoI. This work can range from one off events such as Culture Night, Bloom etc. to taking part in education programmes such as the DCCoI’s CRAFTed primary schools initiative, or DesignSKILLS secondary schools programme. There are also training opportunities with the panel which are designed to up-skill our members in best practice delivery of art, craft and design interventions in formal and informal educational settings.
DCCoI are interested hearing from people from the following regions:
- Wexford
- Laois
- Longford
- Leitrim
- Westmeath
- Kerry
- Galway
DCCoI are also looking to expand the disciplines represented on the panel and would be keen to receive applications from graphic designers and product designers from any location nationwide.
All panel members must be Garda vetted and if you are accepted onto the panel DCCoI will assist you in this process. If you are selected for work with children or vulnerable adults you must have up-to-date training, or be willing to take part in DCCoI training. Copies of all DCCoI polices will be supplied to all panel members.
If you are interested in being part of the panel please send a cover letter outlining why you feel you would be suitable for the panel, your CV and three images of your work to Amanda@dccoi.ie by the midnight 16th December 2018. Please note that interviews for shortlisted applicants will take place in December and January.
