Open Call | D.I.V.A. – Electric Picnic’s Artist In Residence and Bursary Programme

Standing for Diverse Individual Visual Artist, D.I.V.A. is Electric Picnic’s funded Artist In Residence Award and Bursary. In its third year, the D.I.V.A. programme will provide an opportunity for professional Irish Visual Artists to exhibit an existing work to the 55,000 strong festival audience within the festival’s unique environment.
A bursary of €5,000 will be offered to be shared amongst the successful artists, of which there will be a maximum of four, who through the exhibition of their work will help create an amazing backdrop to the festival experience.
Electric Picnic is calling on artists to submit a work they have already conceived and to reimagine it for this exhibition in this unique festival environment. They are throwing the net wide, looking for works that are thought provoking or works that are simply beautiful; works from all mediums, styles and philosophies are welcomed.
How to apply:
You do not need to develop a lengthy proposal in order to apply to the D.I.V.A. programme. As the work will already be in existence, the process will simply involve an email in which you will include photographs of the work, together with a description of the work and a short biography of the artists background and experience. A short description of how you might adapt the work to the festival environment would be advantageous.

The festival provides:
• A total of €5,000 will be awarded shared amongst the winning artists, of which there will be a maximum of four. Please note that this figure must include the purchase of any materials needed to install your work onsite.
• Hostel style accommodation onsite will be offered to the awarded artists for the duration of the adaptation and installation of work. If preferred, you are welcome to make other arrangements at your own expense, however it is essential that you work onsite on the installation process in collaboration with the festival team
