European Connections in Digital Arts (EUCIDA) is a 3 year project funded by Creative Europe led by Rua Red in partnership Espace multimédia gantner France and Lūznava Manor Rēzeknes Latvia. The project aspires to work collaboratively and demonstrate innovation, high standards and contribute to making the digital arts sector highly visible internationally.
EUCIDA are delighted to launch this fantastic opportunity for a Curator to work transnationally to curate the 2018 EUCIDA Parallel Exhibition, by choosing artists from the three countries (Latvia/Ireland/France). The exhibition will take place in three different countries from April to August 2018. French Exhibition 7th April- 7th July, Latvian Exhibition 19th May-29th June, Irish Exhibition 23rd June- 18th August 2018.
The three locations are unique, Rua Red Arts Centre set within the close-knit community of Tallaght at the foot of the Dublin mountains on the edge of the city has a predominantly young population made up of 120 different nationalities. Luznava Manor is an art nouveau manor, set among native and rare forest in a village in the Rēzekne Municipality, Latvia, close to the Russian border. Espace Multimedia Gantner, set in the Bourogne countryside close to the Swiss border, houses France’s largest digital art collection.
This year we particularly welcome curators who take into account the idea of ‘place’ when considering all three locations. The uniqueness of the spaces, their history, place in history and geographical locations.
