Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener and Area is seeking submissions for its biennial exhibition of contemporary art in the public spaces of the Region of Waterloo in June 2020. The biennial exhibition is curated by CAFKA’s Program Committee, which will consider portfolio submissions as part of its curatorial research.
The Program Committee will assess portfolios of artists who have both the experience and potential to develop work in public spaces. Please refer to past biennial programming for examples of projects and the variety of exhibition locations. Shortlisted artists from the Call for Portfolios will be asked to submit project proposals. Artists with viable proposals will work closely with the Program Committee throughout the development and realization of their project.
CAFKA pays artist fees of $2,000 CAD for new work, in addition to negotiable expenses. Video and one-time performance fees are paid in accordance with the CARFAC fee schedule.
CAFKA will not accept postal submissions of hard copy paper, CDs or slides. All submissions must be made online: cafka.org/…call-portfolios
