Bloomers is an independent publication that discusses and celebrates the work of emerging female artists based in Ireland. It is a collaboration between emerging artists and arts writers to create theme specific publications which contain essays, articles and reviews of the work of emerging female and LGBTQ Artists based in Ireland. Bloomers are delighted to announce an open call for submissions for our second issue.
The title of the second issue is ‘The Living Mountain’, which is a book by modernist writer Nan Shepherd. The book is part memoir and an incredibly descriptive and sensual exploration of nature. The issue will include material about emerging female artists who discuss some aspect of landscape, environment, physical space or psychic space in their work. Please note: this is an unpaid opportunity.
