Application deadline: Friday 30 March, 10pm
Basic Space is proud to present the Basic Space Artist Residency (BS/AR) 2018, as part of their Dublin City Arts Office Incubation Space Residency at Unit 4, James Joyce St, Dublin 1.
The BS/AR is a collaborative four-month residency, from April – July 2018 for emerging and early career artists. The successful applicant will be invited to use the studio space with a modest stipend and operational support from Basic Space who will work with you to produce a series of public-facing events and a concluding exhibition.
The BS/AR is part of a multi-site programme of exhibitions, residencies and public programmes looking at institutional attitudes, community spaces and education.
As part of our Incubation Space Residency with Dublin City Arts Office, Basic Space seek to work with artists who look to establish collaborative practices with artists, researchers, writers and curators in addressing similar or wider concerns.
The BS/AR is a continuation of Basic Space’s commitment to emerging artists through the allocation of residency opportunities, encouraging risk-taking and experimental attitudes in the production and dissemination of new work. As part of our representative programme policy, we would like to particularly encourage applications by disabled, LGBTQ+ and BAME artists.
Group applications welcome.
To apply please send a CV, an artist statement and five images of recent work to firstname.lastname@example.org with the reference ‘Basic Space Artists Residency 2018’.
