Open Call | Artist in Residence at Vejle Printmaking Workshop, Denmark

The primary goal of the residency is to give the artist an opportunity for some time to immerse themselves in the artistic process. At the same time there is a focus on networking, dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Vejle Printmaking Workshop is a relatively new workshop (established in 2016). It was created with the purpose of establishing and developing technical facilities within the professional graphic art field. The intention is to ensure, that the artists associated with the workshop have the best possible conditions for their creation of graphic art.
AIR-Vejle cooperates with Vejle Art Museum. Vejle Art Museum is a leader in graphic fine art / works on paper. The museum has a unique graphic art collection of about 20.000 works – the next largest collection of graphic art in Denmark.

By utilising this cohesion between Vejle Printmaking Workshop, the Artist In Residence program and Vejle Art Museum, Vejle can emerge as one of the most important graphic art cities in Denmark.

Residency period: 1 month, 12th of October – 12th of November 2018
Funding: The artist is awarded 15,000 Danish kroner (about 2,000 Euros)
Expenses that are the responsiblity of the artist: Travel, lodgings, meals and materials

Who can apply:
International fine arts printmakers.
There is a preference for contemporary art.

The applicant must be:
Professional fine art printmaker
Age: 25+
Interested in dialogue, knowledge sharing and idea exchange
Speak English – You can make yourself understood

The artist is required to:
1. Hold an Artist Talk, open to the public
Artist Talk is held at the Vejle Art Museum
2. Share knowledge with members of Vejle Printmaking Workshop
3. Participate in an open workshop, ”Open Workzone”, with members of Vejle Printmaking Workshop (3 hours)
