Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival is a vibrant event celebrating this unique town’s remarkable heritage and culture inspiring participation and enjoyment in all those who engage and with the varied programme in a unique setting.
The arts play a central role and Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival actively encouraging social involvement and cultural engagement in the midlands region. Through developing new and wider audiences it aims to expand cultural horizons and enhance local image and identity. This years curator is multi-disciplinary artist, Vera Klute. In 2015 she won the Hennessy Portrait Prize at the National Gallery as well as the Hennessy Craig Scholarship at the RHA. Vera has received several Arts Council Bursary Awards, the K+M Evans Award and the Emerging Visual Artist Award at Wexford Arts Centre. www.veraklute.net
Please Note: There is no artist fee to exhibit. Artists are responsible for the safety and insurance of the work during transport. The work will be insured by Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival for the duration of the exhibition. All work must be submitted ready to hang, with all necessary fixings securely attached. A 15% commission will be applied to all work sold during the Exhibition. Number of works: Artists may submit from 1 to 4 (maximum) pieces
Notification of Curators decision, Tuesday 31 July. Collection of non-selected works Wednesday 1st August 2-6pm. Launch: Friday 3rd August 6.30pm (Venue as hand in days) Exhibition runs 3rd-12th August.
