At Sion Stables, Larval of the [backspace] series continues artist Yarli Allison’s journey reverting to earlier forms or status quo of well-being. Yarli extracts elements of her previous work at the Walled City Brewery into physical forms and sculptural objects which respond and intervene with the existing museum collections. Her works are recontextualised with the repurposed stable spaces through metaphors of dependency, supply, nurture and mobility. Following the disappearance of linen industries in Sion Mills, this exhibition, delivered through engaging with oral histories, contemplates intangible elements that have persevered and succeeded to live on and be embodied by the region/place.
