Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is seeking to appoint a coordinator to help with the programming and production of this year’s Jonathan Swift Festival. This is a fixed term, part-time contract until December. The closing date for receipt of applications is 15 May.
The role is part time until November when it rises to full time in advance of the festival itself (29 November- 2 December).
The Jonathan Swift Festival was launched in November 2017 to coincide with the 350th birthday of Swift. 30 events were held across the city of Dublin including talks, tours, recitals, concerts and a gala dinner. The Festival reflected upon Swift’s life and work while also continuing his amazing legacy in areas including; mental health, literature, satire and political commentary. The Festival was organised primarily by Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in partnership with a wide variety of cultural institutions, artists and facilitators.
The Festival was supported by Fáilte Ireland’s regional festival programme.In 2018, the Festival has been awarded National Festival status by Fáilte Ireland and is seeking to build on the enormous success of its first year.
This year’s Festival runs from the 28th November-2nd December 2018.
