Invitation to Participate in Drawing Dalymount Event

Saturday 10 November, 10.00 โ€“ 1.00,ย Dalymount Stadium, Phibsborough, Dublin 7

This is an invitation to draw and explore this historic stadium. It is open to everyone, with and without drawing experience and for all ages.

Dalymount Stadium, the Dublin landmark, hosted its first game of football in 1901. In three years time it will be demolished and replaced by a new municipal sports stadium. It is currently a fascinating mish mash of construction, demolition, functionality, repair and make-do, charting itโ€™s uses and the fortunes of Bohemians Football Club over the last 117 years.

Organised by a visual artist and urban researcher working on a project exploring the architectural legacy and space of this stadium.

Places are limited, if you would like to participate or have any queries please email smithmmdorothy@gmail.comย or jackiebourke@gmail.com

Drawing Dalymount is one aspect of Mapping Dalymount โ€“ A Unique Architectural Space, which also consists of interviews and photographs capturing layers of history and emotional attachment to place.ย The project is funded by the Arts Council through the Engaging with Architecture scheme.
