The Saari Residence, maintained by Kone Foundation, is a residence located in Mynรคmรคki, Southwest Finland, for artists of all disciplines and nationalities.
The Saari Residence offers artists a peaceful working environment in the historical and scenic surroundings of an old, rural manor house, as well as excellent opportunities for interaction with other residents.
Residencies are available to individual artists working in various artistic fields; translators, curators and critics; and artistic groups (working groups and organisations with a business ID) of all disciplines. It is open to all nationalities.
Residency places are intended for artistic work. Priority is given to fresh, multidisciplinary, marginal, or non-mainstream themes and fields of art. Applicants must present in their application a project proposal or a work plan for their residency.
A two-month individual residency includes accommodation, workspace, and a monthly grant. The grant is awarded to cover living and travel expenses.
Individual residency grant classification:
Grant 1: beginning of career โฌ2,400 /month
Grant 2: mid-career โฌ2,800 /month
Grant 3: experienced artist โฌ3,500 /month.
Groups may apply for support for travel and living costs if their residency is of a shorter duration (2โ4 weeks).
