Creative Life Drawing Workshop with Dublin Drawing at Block T

This is a untaught afternoon class in drawing the figure from life, using the poses in the 1799 painting The Intervention of the Sabine Women as a starting point to explore action and narrative.

The aim is to explore the theme in a series of drawings, using some props and costume. The model will adopt various positions so that you can build up a bigger composition, or work on a series of smaller drawings if you prefer.

The afternoon will start with some slides and a brief discussion of the theme. There will be a short break about half way through for a cup of tea.

This will be an untaught session- there will be no drawing instruction – just some brief discussions of art history. Basic materials, easels, paper and drawing boards will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own.
