2 and 3 March 2018
The IMA’s annual spring conference will be held in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, providing an opportunity for museum professionals and practitioners from the wider cultural landscape to gather and exchange views.
A themed event, the 2018 conference is part of a two-year programme exploring contemporary collecting in response to the EYCH18 – how museums can collect for the future and represent the ‘now’, capturing contemporary cultural changes and shifting perspectives, moving on in some cases from the collected object.
Speakers represent a range of disciplines and institutions, including Corinna Gardner, Victoria and Albert Museum: Dr Dea Birkett, Circus250 and Kids in Museums; Dr Linda King, IADT; Hannah Crowdy, National Museums Northern Ireland; Eamonn Maxwell, Arts Council Collection; Johanne Mullan, IMMA; Dr Audrey Whitty, NMI; and Ele von Monschaw, NGI, among others.
Conference registration fees range from €34 – €140, see website for details.
