Commission | EURO2020 City Spectacular, Dublin City Council and FAI

The closing date for submissions: 12noon on Friday 18 January 2019.

Dublin City Council, in partnership with the FAI invite proposals for the production, planning, installation, maintenance, removal and disposal of a โ€˜City Spectacularโ€™ to coincide with Dublinโ€™s hosting of four matches for the UEFA European Championships in June 2020. This brief is intentionally open in its approach and scope, in order to encourage a range of artistic responses and there is no set formula for delivery, other than that the installation must be football related (it must resonate with the tournament), and seek to showcase Dublinโ€™s culture and personality as a creative, fun-loving and welcoming city.

A City Spectacular is an installation that must resonate with the tournament and be football related, normally situated on or near an iconic city location. The City Spectacular is expected to launch on the weekend of 8th โ€“ 10th May 2020 and could be in situ until the end of the tournament in mid-July 2020. The City Spectacular should be creative, inspiring, unique to Dublin, and capture the interest and imagination of both visiting fans and city residents.

Budgets
The budget for proposals is โ‚ฌ50,000 โ€“ โ‚ฌ70,000. This is for all costs relating to the commission including the cost of fees, creation, production, planning, installation, maintenance, removal and disposal.
