Comic Book Illustration Course with Oisin Roche at Block T

Ever wanted to create your own Comic Book?! The artist Oisin Roche is joining us this autumn for an 8 week workshop that will explore the artform of the comic. Our Comic Book illustration workshop will focus on various aspects of creating and telling your own stories through the genre of comic books, where only your imagination is a limitation.

Looking at key comic book artists and styles, the course will explore the techniques used by some of the industry’s most famous creators. A range of interactive activities will engage and promote creative thinking and expression. Ranging from simple autobiographical mini comics to more elaborate formats, each student will be guided in their own chosen style and genre in a step by step manner that will result in their own finished comic book.

About your tutor:
Oisin Roche is a freelance illustrator and fine artist who has worked with Dargaud of France (Asterix, Tintin), and is published with Irish-based comic book companies such as Lightening Strikes Comics. He has also produced concept art for several animation films, and teaches life drawing to animation students at Pulse College.
