Bealtaine Workshops at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is delighted to present a series of free events for Bealtaine @ Temple Bar, organised in partnership with Age & Opportunity as part of the nationwide Bealtaine festival – celebrating the arts and creativity as we age.

Bealtaine @ Temple Bar is an exciting new strand of the Bealtaine programme with a series of arts and cultural events running across Temple Bar’s cultural quarter from the 3rd to the 7th of May.

Workshop: Beyond Noise and Silence
Thursday 3 May 2018 | 3pm-5pm
Location: Studio 6, TBG+S (access via the side door on Fownes Street Lower)
Join artist Karl Burke to explore the soundscape of the city, focusing on the Temple Bar region, and create your own aural landscape using instruments and digital technology to interrupt and overlap with the sounds of the area.

Workshop: Temporary Structures
Thursday 3 May 2018 | 3pm-5pm
Location: Meeting House Square
Join artists Tanad Williams and Andreas Kindler von Knobloch to design and create a temporary and modular sculpture in Temple Bar’s Meeting House Square. Participants are invited to create 2D designs, to build, sew and add to the sculpture as it develops over the day.

Intergenerational art workshop
Friday 4 May 2018 | 4pm-5pm
TBG+S Gallery
Join us in an exploration of Knock Knock, an exhibition by Hannah Fitz. In this workshop with artist Jane Fogarty, we will delve into the sculptural forms and techniques used by Fitz to create plaster bandage sculptures. All ages welcome to take part.
