Blender is a free, open-source 3D modeling program for everyone that allows you to model, animate, simulate and render still images, animations, visual effects and video games. You can use it to make a range of different scenes from realistic, stylised, architectural, cartoon, outdoors and many more, whatever you want to make. When you learn the basics of Blender, you will be able to apply this knowledge in animation, video game engines and VR.
Over four weeks, we will build a low-poly nature scene. This will involve learning the Blender interface, building models of animals, trees and grass, and using cloth and particle simulations to create a dynamic environment. We will also look at colouring your models, creating a forest and rendering your scene. At the end of this course, you will have your very own computer-generated image.
