IMMA is delighted to invite you to a critical response and lecture by London based curator Vali Mahlouji titled Sunset, Sunrise – Mapping Farmanfarmaian’s Significance.

Mahlouji traces the relationship between revolutions and repression of art and artists in Iran, that saw artists of Farmanfarmaian’s generation seek political exile elsewhere. As a vital context to access Farmanfarmaian’s legacy and artistic meaning in the present Mahlouji explores issues of ‘exile and return’ across inter-connected global realities.

This final talk in the series draws on subjects ranging from the aesthetic, to the geographic, anthropological and spiritual, to open intercultural dialogue in art history.
