10 Free Tickets Available for UK Museums Association Annual Conference and Exhibition 2018, Belfast
The Museums Association (MA) is offering 10 free places at their Annual Conference & Exhibition in Belfast next month to groups that are particularly under-represented in the UK museum sector.
The inclusive places are available to people who face barriers due to ethnicity, disability and class. They are being offered as part of the MAβs wider work towards creating a more inclusive conference and sector.
The MA will also support any accessibility requests such as the provision of British Sign Language (BSL) or a support worker.
The association will be working with groups in the sector such as Museum Detox, Museum as Muck, the Disability Cooperative Network for Museums and others to publicise these opportunities. Applicants must be MA individual members.
Simon Stephens, the MAβs head of publications and events, said: βWe are delighted to be able to offer these 10 free places to ensure our conference is representative of all people in the sector.
βThe MA is deeply committed to diversity, equality and inclusion, and it is vital that we reflect that commitment in our annual conference. We look forward to welcoming all delegates to Belfast next month for what promises to be an radical, exciting and thought-provoking few days.β
The MAβs Annual Conference & Exhibition takes place on 8-10 November at the Belfast Waterfront. Applications must be submitted no later than Monday 29 October for consideration.
