Just how does an artist get from an idea to a finished exhibition?
Belfast Open Studios returns for it’s fifth annual insight into the tremendous creative activity that is going on all around us, all of the time.
Over 250 professional artists are at work behind usually closed doors in studios across Belfast. They produce work that is seen and celebrated in galleries around the world, and make our lives richer through their investigation and experimentation.
Belfast Open Studios is an invitation meet the artists, explore their workplaces and get a glimpse of their creative processes in action.
ARTIST RESIDENCIES @ Golden Thread Gallery
Saturday 13th October, 12pm – 4pm
Shiro Masuyama will share his experience of making international artist residencies central to his artistic practice and will give practical advice to artists in a series of project clinics.
CURATOR TALKS @ VAI Belfast
Friday 16th November
A chance to hear some of our invited curators talk about their own practices, and reflections on what interests them when putting together exhibitions.
SPEED CURATING @ Belfast Exposed
Saturday 17th November
Eighteen curators from across Ireland and the UK coming together to hear your ten minute pitches. You will be able to see up to three curators during the afternoon so it’s important that you pick the right curators for you.
